Flickering doom is the temporary experience of one who oscillates (quickly alternates) between the possibility of being unable to avoid escaping hell and the (seeming) actuality of escaping hell. It is only an experience, not a reality. Now, advance knowledge of the possibility of this experience alone cannot prevent this experience from occurring. The only sure way of preventing it from occurring is advance knowledge of the possibility of the experience in combination with the valuing of absence of the experience more than enjoyment.
